Whether you're looking for a small car that will take you from point A to point B without requiring a lot of money or just want a vehicle that offers great value, the 2020 Kia Rio is a very good option. It's a small hatchback that's durable and affordable.

Despite its budget pricing, the Kia Rio has plenty of features to please most people. It is comfortable to drive and features a well-designed interior.

The dashboard is simple and sophisticated but also logically designed for ease of use. The infotainment screen can be found near the top of your dashboard. Controls for stereo, air conditioner and other features can be found in logically placed places.

There is ample space in the front seats, and plenty of headroom if your height exceeds six feet. There isn't much legroom in the rear seats, and there's not enough trunk space.

Storage is decent, with large door bins and cupholders and a usefully-sized glovebox. Some models include a cubbyhole beneath the central armrest.

Kia has made some updates to the Rio for 2020. It comes standard with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a new engine, transmission, and more safety equipment than ever.

This year's model combines a new 1.6-liter, four-cylinder engine with a continuously variable automatic transmission that makes it more fuel efficient and much quieter than the old 130-hp 1.6-liter powertrain. The EPA estimates it will get 33 miles per gallon city and 41 highway.

The Rio's engine is an excellent choice because it's both fuel-efficient, and has plenty of power. The engine is available in LX and S trim levels. Both have an 8.0-inch touchscreen, and support Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

Rio's strong point is its similarity to a European sedan in appearance. This makes it easy to fit in suburban driveways. It's not as bulky at the rear, so it is easier to get into parking spaces and load up cargo.

Exterior styling is more conservative than previous models, but it's still a very appealing design and has a distinctive appearance that sets it apart from other subcompact cars. The front features a chrome-tiger nose, which can be customized to suit different models. You also have the option of changing the body color.

A new GT Line is also available, featuring a unique grille with 17-inch alloy wheels. The GT Line includes black and grey seats as well as a sportier steering mechanism with a red stitch.

The Rio isn’t an extravagant vehicle but it offers a lot of features and excellent warranty coverage. The warranty covers five years (or 60,000 miles) of bumper-to–bumper coverage as well as 10 years (or 100,000 miles) of powertrain protection.
