Imagery
Images often play a role in product reviews. It can be either epistemic, or emotive imagery. An epistemic response is one that only includes cognitive content. While an emotional response contains physiological changes and evaluative appraisals as well as facial expressions. Though psychologists have been able to address this issue in past years, the importance of emotions in product consumption is not well understood.
In product reviews, the imagery should be original. Using stock photos will not make your review stand out, so make sure to create your own. Remember, a picture is worth a thousand words!
Target audience
Writing a product review is a great way to identify your target market. You need to conduct audience research in order to identify your target audience. This includes researching your audience's age, gender, education level, geographic location, and other demographic information. It is also possible to look into the content they are reading or engaging in. Social media is a great source of information.
Effective reviews start with identifying your audience. Although you cannot predict who your target audience will be, you can identify their most common problems and interests. This step, called audience research is continuous.
